April Showers...

It's raining pretty hard off an on outside right now and it's soooooo soothing to listen to.  I've missed the sound of rain.  I've missed rain on a warm evening.  This reminds me that spring is here.  Do you hear that snow???  You're not welcome back anymore!

How about that hottie violin player on DWTS tonight??

Mondays are the worst.  Yes, I totally had a case of the Mondays today.  I kind of have a case of the Mondays everyday.

What happened at work exactly?  Well the day dragged for one, and one of my coworkers kept interrupting and butting into every conversation I was having with my supervisor.  I mean seriously, he's in another room - why yell over, you're not even a part of the conversation?

I will be the first to admit that I really shouldn't work so closely with other adults.  I have little patience for them.  I'm currently looking into figuring out how to get some training in medical transcription and how much time and money that is going to cost me.  It's not something that will happen over night and currently I have about $40k in in student loans that are in forbearance and collecting interest so I've come to accept I'm going to be in debt for the rest of my life, what's another $2k?

My heart is beating and I'm on the verge of having an anxiety attack just thinking about all the money I owe.

College was one expensive mistake.

I got a bike to replace my old one with the flat tire this weekend.  I went to change the tube in the flat yesterday and the whole bike literally fell apart in my hands.  I'm not sure what happened to it, or how it ended up in such crappy condition.  Actually, yes I do, I didn't take care of it as well as I should have and I didn't secure it as well as I should have.

I probably should've used the extra money I had from a third paycheck this month to pay on my student loans and not buy a bike...

Whatever...

It's basically what my old bike was - nothing fancy, my budget was $150 and this met that.  I will say that it shifts gears a lot smoother than my old bike did.

It was SO beautiful out yesterday - after running around trying to find a bike, I took advantage and did some riding on the trail system by my house.  I also did some biking today after work.  I'm not terribly familiar with this end of this particular biking system, although I've traveled the system from Queensbury to Lake George before, I haven't ridden the Hudson Falls end since I was about 10 years old.  I've decided it's kind of creepy, although today it didn't bother me as much as it did yesterday.

There are some really great picture spots on this particular trail as it follows many lock systems, I was going to get some to post but I got caught in the rain.

I did make it home right before hardcore downpour...

I really enjoy riding my bike, I covered about 6 miles both yesterday and today, but that's only about 200 calories.  I don't have time to ride AND go to the gym - but I feel like I get a better workout at the gym.

Speaking of calories, let's not even discuss what I ate this weekend.

I'm expecting my first gain of my TOPS experience tomorrow.  It's going to be really embarrassing for me because everyone expects me to always lose.

Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution starts back up again tomorrow and I'm so thrilled.  If you're not familiar with Jamie Oliver or his Food Revolution, where have you been?!  Jamie (AKA The Naked Chef) has such a big heart and his drive is so inspirational.  His goal?  To teach families, children and schools how to cook good nutritious meals.  Seriously, it's that simple, and such a foreign concept today.  If you haven't watched the first season, I highly suggest you go back and watch it, you can access it on www.hulu.com.  Hopefully the TED video below works - if not just go to www.ted.com and search Jamie Oliver, and while you're there check out the other TED videos, some of them are really great.  I also highly suggest the founder of Twitter's speech.  I don't care about Twitter and haven't ever done it, but the speech had a pretty big impact on me and where we are going technologically speaking.

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend, here's to a swift week!!

I would love to own a bike! I just fear I would never ride it. I have to stick to my gym workouts and my p90x. How fun would it be to do a workout outdoors? (Well, unless it was raining!)

It's ok to gain weight every once in a while. You're allowed to have a free weekend pass, right?

Have a great week!

Deep breaths on the debt thing. I understand, and am right there with you (mine are so bad, I have to move back in with my parents in 2 weeks to save on rent...and that's all just from college, a car that was totaled by a drunk driver, and a series of deadbeat roommates). It's awesome that you take financial responsibility seriously, but you also need to embrace the fluidity of debt. Know that you CAN get control and dominance of it. Make a plan, make a budget, and you can totally kill that school debt!

This totally reminds me that I have my bike plus my brother's bike he left for me, at my parents house. Or did they get rid of them? I can't remember. I should ask about that.
I love the rain! Right before we moved to Oregon, it rained all of June in Utah. People were complaining about it ALL THE TIME, but it was great! Desert down pours in the summer are the best! We would go outside and dance in the rain! Until the lightening would strike. Ahh, good times!
