Happy Graduation!

I seems like every corner I turn this week someone has a kid who's graduating.

Graduating from what you say?

Apparently you graduate from every milestone in school now, for example:

Graduating from preschool, kindergarten, elementary school, middle school and high school.

Then on top of all the graduations, you get the yearly award ceremonies.

"My kid got Perfect Attendance!"

"My daughter got Most Artistic!"

"My son got Biggest Book Worm!"

"My kid is the teacher's worst nightmare, so he got Most Improved!"

What the hell man?

When did school become one giant, "You're Special, even if you don't work as hard as you should or follow the rules the way you should!"  *pat on the back*

Now I won't lie.  I had a few graduations of my own...

A) 6th Grade Graduation

B) High School Graduation

C) College Graduation

Interestingly, I had more spectators at my 6th Grade Graduation than I did my college graduation.

I didn't participate in activities and get an award simply for showing up either.  Isn't that what you're SUPPOSED to do when you take on extra activities?  I didn't get an award for walking and not running in the halls or a trophy at the end of the year for doing my homework like I was supposed to.

When did kids get so soft?

I'm only 25, so it had to have been recently.

Anyway...

To anyone who is graduating, weather it's from middle school, high school, college, graduate school, elementary school or simply graduating from level 29 to 30 on Farmville...give yourself a pat on the back and hang your awards and trophies high, because once you graduate for real and become a functional member of society, no one gives a shit!

They have so many laws now because they have to protect themselves from parent suing them! It's kind of sad.

LOL! That is so true! Jake is "graduating" from Kinder tomorrow. But they are just having a party, as far as I know, no graduation of sorts.

And I love cake wrecks! I don't it out as often as I should, but it's great!
