Ten on Tuesday

10 on Tuesday

It's Tuesday and I Tuesdays I enjoy linking up with Chelsea's Ten on Tuesday.  The questions today come from Erin and Chelsea is right, she DOES have super cute twins.

1. When someone asks you for a book recommendation, what is your go-to book?
This is not really something I get asked and I know why.  1) I don't read a whole lot and 2) What I do read is mostly non-fiction.  I'm not a big fantasy storybook reader.  Right now I'm reading Adirondack Peak Experiences:

2.  Do you buy your books, or are you a library patron?
I am definitely a library goer.  Sometimes I have like 12 books out at once!  I will only buy a book to read if it's something I REALLY want to read and can't get it at the library or if it's some kind of reference/coffee table book that was on sale.  I like to buy those.

3.  E-readers, yay or nay?
No thanks - I get it for the convienience, like when I was looking for a particular book a couple weeks ago EVERYONE kept saying, "Too bad you don't have a Kindle!!!" and I wanted to be like, "Too bad you have an ugly face!!!"  (No no, I'm kidding I love you all, haha)  I stare at a screen all day, when I want to get in bed and read I want to read a book not another screen.  If the books were significantly cheaper, or if I could download them like visiting a library then maybe I'd see more value, but right now it's just not for me.

4.  What was your favorite book as a child?
I love children's books, I have many favorites but my favorite AS a child was Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.  I also LOVED Roald Dahl books, The Twitches is one of my all time favorites.

5.  If you could be any character in a book, who would you be?
Probably Hermione from Harry Potter.  She's smart, she's a wizard (which is awesome) and she gets to marry Ron Weasley whom I love as a character.

6.  What book would you love to see turned into a movie?
I'm not really sure...I think most of my favorite books have been turned into movies, haha

7.  What is your all-time favorite book?
That Was Then, This Is Now by SE Hinton.  I LOVED this book - I read it in 10th grade and it's left something, it's always what I think of when someone asks me this question.

8.  How many books do you read at once?
I try to stick with one - if I get more than one going at a time I tend to not finish them but sometimes because I take so many out of the library at once I feel I need to be reading them all at once, lol

9.  What is your favorite book genre?
Ooops I didn't see this would be a question, I already answered it kind of, lol  I tend to read non-fiction, usually books on food, history, true stories of survival, the Adirondacks and natural living.  I'm kind of a nerd.  Once in a while I'll pick up a fiction book that someone recommended to me but not if it's a sappy love story - I'm talking like funny chick book, but I think I've read like three of them in my entire life.

10.  Which Harry Potter book is the best?  Or haven’t you read them at all?
My favorite is the first one, just because it's so magical.  I mean yea, there was a little bit of Voldemort drama towards the end but for the most part everything was fresh, new and innocent.  I'm sad that it's all coming to an end, I mean I know the last book has been out for quite a few years now but now that the movies are ending it just makes it all so completely over.

Enjoy your Tuesday!

I'm not sure which was my favorite HP book because I loved them all. Maybe the first? But favorite movie of them so far still remains #3. :) And I don't have a Kindle or Ereader either. I prefer just a good ole' hard or paper back. I also stare at a screen all day long. Plus, does sun or salt in the air damage the Kindles at a beach? And I don't have to charge my book so its conveinient. Also, people who get those new technology things are all gung-ho on them for a few months and then they sit and rarely get used. I'm sure it's not like that for everyone but I tend to do that.

I love Harry! I really do! My favorite is probably the third and the last book.
I love to read, but I'm sort of all over in the types of books I read.
I agree with the kindle thing. I want, need, to have a REAL book in my hands!
